Image
Miqat, which literally means "a designated point," is the line beyond which pilgrims must don the Ihram garments and beyond which they may not go in any other condition than Ihram. To make up for their sin, Muslims who pass through the boundary without taking Ihram are expected to slaughter an animal. Detailed information on the five stages of Miqat and its significance in Islam is provided below. There are a number of Miqats, with five being the most common. Plus, they were often discussed in the Hadiths. This is why Dhul Hulayfah is the Miqat for the inhabitants of Madinah and al-Juhfah is the Miqat for the residents of Sham, as proclaimed by the Messenger of God. Also, Yalamlam for the Yemenis, and Qarn al-Manazil for the Najdis. Dhul Hulifa For Madinah people, Dhul Hulifah is located 410 kilometers north of Makkah and about 18 kilometers south of Masjid al-Nabawi. Al-Juhfah Located 183 kilometers (114 miles) from Makkah, Al-Juhfah is a rather easy day trip. Tr
